  • Text For Humanity is optimized to work using the 23 numbers in their domestic location, however coverage of other destinations by these numbers may be possible. Local numbers cover Australia, Austria, CA, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and the US.
  • To the extent permitted by law, Sinch make no representations or warranties for the Text For Humanity service and accepts no liability at all towards any person due to actions taken, or omitted to be taken in relation to the Text For Humanity campaign. Sinch reserves all rights, but have no obligation to, moderate messages for any reason, including to ensure message content is positive and in keeping with the campaign ethos.
  • Text for Humanity is a feel-good collaboration aimed at making the world a little happier. It is not a substitute or replacement for mental health services by provided by a trained and qualified provider.
  • In addition to your message, only your first name, country and potential other information you choose to share will be shared with the person who receives your message. By using this website or the Text For Humanity campaign (“Text For Humanity”), you consent to the following privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”). The Privacy Policy applies to the processing of personal data carried out by Sinch AB (publ) as the supplier of the Text For Humanity website and messaging product, or any of its subsidiaries (“We”, “Our”, “Us” or “Sinch”). Please do not engage in any of these activities if you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Your privacy is important to Us. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you about the information We may gather about you, how We may use that information, whether We disclose it to anyone, and the choices you have regarding Our use of the information We collect.

Information Collected by Sinch
“Personal Data” or “Personal Data” means information relating to an identified or identifiable person. In general, Sinch will collect Personal Data from you based upon your use of the Site and Text For Humanity, as follows:

In order to access and use Text For Humanity, you are required to provide Us with certain information, including your phone number, first name and location. We may also request, but you will not be required to provide, additional information depending on the campaign. We use this information to provide the service, including to maintain the thread of the conversation and ensure that we do not send your message back to you. Part of the information you provide will also be shared with the receiver when communicating your text message, including your first name and country and depending on the campaign, any other information that you choose to provide us with, if applicable. We will not share your phone number with the person who receives your message. The processing is necessary for the performance of our contract with you regarding Text For Humanity and on your consent. You can always withdraw your consent at any time. We will only save your Personal Data during the time of the campaign and for an additional seven (7) days, and will then delete all of your Personal Data. If you opt out of the campaign, we will delete your Personal Data within seven (7) days.

Disclosures and Sharing of Information

The Text For Humanity campaign is performed by Us together with Our partners Mental Health America (“MHA”) and Edelman Deportivo (”ED”). No personal data will be transferred to MHA, ED or any other third parties.


Your personal data may be transferred to and processed by third party providers and suppliers which perform services for Us (data processors), to enable these companies to perform the services requested by Company. Only personal data that is necessary to fulfil the purposes will be provided to these companies. All third party providers and suppliers must follow Our instructions and applicable written data processor agreements and any other agreements that are in place between Us and Our third party providers/suppliers, and must implement appropriate technical and organizational measures for the protection of the personal data. We reserve the right to disclose information as required by law or regulation and when We believe that disclosure is necessary to protect Our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process. Notwithstanding any provisions herein, We may disclose Personal Data to governmental authorities when required or reasonably requested to do so by such governmental authorities. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the extent that it is in conflict with any law that may be applicable to the Personal Data of a Data Subject.

A third party that receives your Personal Data may be located in a country that offers a lower level of protection for personal data than in the EU and Switzerland. Personal data may be transferred to a country, that offers a lower level of protection for personal data, but only if it is ensured that the personal data is adequately protected by the receiving parties in such countries. Adequate protection may typically be to impose on the receiving party contractual obligations that ensure that such party maintains the same high level of privacy and data security as practiced by Sinch.

Because Sinch is a global company, We may share your information with other Sinch affiliates and business units in other parts of the world in order to provide you with Text For Humanity. Your Personal Data may be transferred by Us from your home country to Sinch employees in Sinch offices around the world, who may communicate with you regarding your enquiry. Please understand that We limit access to your Personal Data to only those Sinch employees who We believe need access in order to provide services to you or to otherwise perform their duties.

Sinch may de-identify or depersonalize data into anonymized and aggregate data that it derives from you (“Anonymous Data”). Anonymous Data means data that includes no Personal Data or unique identifiers that could later be used to refer to the Personal Data to which the data was once associated. Sinch uses only Anonymous Data in performing analyses, and may disclose Anonymous Data to third parties.

This Site is Not for Use by Children
Protecting the privacy of children is important to Sinch. For that reason, the Site is structured specifically to not attract anyone under 13, nor do We collect or maintain Personal Data on the Site from those who Sinch actually knows are under 13. If Sinch learns or is notified that it has collected information from users under the age of 13, Sinch will immediately delete such Personal Data.

We provide you the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your Personal Data used for Text for Humanity. If you register with Us but no longer wish to be part of the campaign, you may opt-out of it by texting “STOP” to the number which you received the message from.

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to guard against unauthorized or unlawful processing of your Personal Data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, your Personal Data. Sinch uses industry-standard security measures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of any Personal Data it owns, including, in appropriate circumstances, the use of firewalls, restricted access, and encrypted transmissions. Sinch limits access to Personal Data to those persons in Sinch’s organization who have a business need to process such Personal Data. However, no company, including Sinch, can fully eliminate the security risks associated with such Personal Data. Due to factors beyond Sinch’s control, Sinch cannot ensure that Personal Data will not be disclosed to third parties. For example, Sinch may become legally obligated to disclose such data, or, despite precautions, third parties may circumvent security measures to intercept or access such data.

We cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other Personal Data will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. By way of example (without limiting the foregoing), We may be forced to disclose Personal Data to the government or third parties under certain circumstances, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, or users may abuse or misuse your Personal Data that they collect from the Site.

Third Parties
Please be advised this Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Sinch does not own or control, or to people that Sinch does not employ or manage. This includes links to other websites on the Site. Sinch recommends that you be aware when you leave the Site and read the terms of use and privacy policies of any site, product or service that collects Personal Data.

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, so please review it regularly. If We make changes to this Privacy Policy, We will post the revised Privacy Policy on the Site and other places We deem appropriate.
